Soil Nail

Self drilling soil nails provide friction, shear and tension strength in loose or collapsing soils. The ONTON hollow bar allows drilling and grouting to be combined as a single operation step. All anchor bars fully comply with EN 14490 (European standard for soil nails).

Micropile

Self drilling micropiles can be installed into areas of restricted access or within the close proximity of buildings. ONTON IBO anchor piles are hollow, fully threaded which can be extended and grouted in deeper areas. ONTON self drilling micropiles comply in Europe with EN 14199 and America ASTM A-615.

Rock Bolt

Self drilling rock bolts are used for the NEW Austrian Tunneling Method (NATM). The applications for ONTON hollow bar rock bolts include: slope stabilization, rock fall netting, catch fences, tunnel portal stabilization or avalanche protection barriers.

Drilling rigs

Self-drilling anchor hollow bars are mostly equipped with hydraulic rotary percussion drill devices (the top hammer). Manual hand held drill machine, Geomek D50, Comacchio MC 235, Atlas Copco Roc an Klemm drill rigs are often used.

Drilling method

The self drilling hollow bars are typically installed using rotary percussive drilling. Drilling and Grouting are simultaneous.

Self-drilling anchor IBO is hollow bar with all threading. When it is applied as rock bolt, soil nail or micopile, the IBO anchor serves as a drilling rod, an injection tube and a reinforcing bar.
